I bought this Microserver to use with Windows Home Server 2011. The install went perfectly and the Microserver was up and running in about 5 hours. That included the time to mount the 4 WD RED hard drives, setup the RAID, install the OS and ALL updates. This Microserver runs almost silent, puts out very little heat and is installed in my home office and unlike previous servers... is basically out of site and out of mind. Small in size, and quiet in use... I highly recommend it. Now if you are looking to use this as a full blown Windows Server it could work, but it does have some limitations. Most notable are the 32GB memory limitations and the CPU CORe count of 2. So it is not a great option for virtual servers. You could upgrade the CPU, but I will not go over that here as it would void your warranty. I recommend you run this server with WD RED drives and upgrade the memory from 2GB to 8GB (8GB is the maximum that Windows Home Server 2011 supports). - Customer Reviews
